Taungyi Lighting Festival (Hot Balloon flying Festival) Tour

Day – 01: (2.Nov ' 06)
Yangon arrival and sightseeing (by car)
Arrive at Yangon International Airport to be welcomed upon arrival by your gracious tour guide. Transfer and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, take a tour of Yangon including a photo stop at Karaweik Hall (named after a sacred mythological bird) which is a royal barge floating in Kandawgyi ("Royal") Lake and then stop at the Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda (Reclining Buddha), a colossal reclining Buddha (which is only surpassed in size by the one in Bago). Later that afternoon, visit to the city center and see the gilded 2,500 year-old Sule Pagoda (a magnificent octagonal golden pagoda which is said to enshrine a hair of Buddha). Then, you will visit the beautiful colonial-style buildings surrounding Mahabandula Park, take a tour of the Naga (hand blown) Glass Factory and stroll through the quaint and narrow streets of Chinatown including the short visit to Tao Temple. At the end of the day, shortly before sunset, you will be enjoy the effect of the soft early evening light reflecting off of the golden stupa of Shwedagon Pagoda (which is 107 meters high). Spend the night at your hotel in Yangon.

Day – 02 : (3.Nov ' 06)
Yangon – Heho – Taunggyi Lighting Festival

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transfered to the Yangon airport for your flight to Heho. Upon arrival, you will be driven to Tuanggyi. After checking into your hotel, you will attend the Tuanggyi Lighting Festival and Hot Air Balloon Festival where the local Taunggyi people celebrate with Kahtein (offering of monk robes) as well as the releasing up fire-balloons and balloons in the shape of animals into the sky. Spend the night at your hotel in Taunggyi.

Day – 03: (4. Nov ' 06)
Taunggyi Lighting Festival

After breakfast at your hotel, you will view the Kahtein Padethabin Procession, which is the donation of offertories, which are beautifully set on tree like tripods and sent to the monasteries. The collective procession in Taunggyi takes place on the eve of the day of the Full Moon Day of Tazaungmon starting from 9:00 in the morning and carry on until 3:00 in the evening and, it is cheered by thousand of onlookers. In the evening the winning robe of the un-stale (a robe weaving competition) is offered with great ceremony to Buddha. Spend the night at your hotel in Taunggyi.

Day – 04: (5. Nov ' 06)
Taunggyi – Heho - Yangon
After breakfast breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to Inle Lake where you will take a boat excursion on the lake for sightseeing including a tour of a Blacksmith and a Silversmith Workshop, then, you will continue by boat to the floating islands, to the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda (where worshippers apply gold leaf to the Buddha), to the floating gardens, to see the unique one-legged rowers (who row with one leg, while standing on the other as they are fishing), to see the "traditional fishing method" and a silk weaving factory. At the end of the day, you will visit the Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, also called "jumping cats monastery" because trained cats stay there with the monks. In the evening fly back to Yangon. Spend the night at your hotel in Yangon.

Day – 05: (6. Nov ' 06)
Yangon departure
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken to the Gems Mart and Handicrafts shops for morning shopping. You will also be taken to the Bogyoke Aung San Market (well known for gems & jewelry, arts & crafts, fabrics & fashions and local products) where you can buy you last-minute souvenirs. You will then be transferred to airport for your departure.

Cancellation Policy

- Cancellation within one month prior to arrival of the guest will not be charge.

The Gate of Mergui archipelago

Kawthaung
Kawthaung is the gate way of Mergui archipelago located at the southern edge of Myanmar. The town was build by British and named Victoria Point. There is a river name Perchan separate Kawthaung and Ranong of Thailand. Most of tourists come from Ranong to Kawthaung by crossing to the river with small long tail boat to enter Myanmar's virgin archipelago and some are come directly from Thailand's most famous topical paradise city Phuket with liveabord boats and sailing boats.

The colorful people are living on that small town, among of them Burmese, Thai, Malay, Indian and Chinese are prominent. Nowadays, foreign people can use their passport to enter Kawthaung through Ranong. It's a one of the gate at Phuket use for their visa extension. Local Thai people can use their local border pass book to visit Kawthaung. People with passport can go to Myeik and Dawei.

Journey Throughout the Mergui archipelago

Mergui Archipelago consists of 800 islands of stunning, tropical beauty that man has scarcely touched, which is located at the south western part of Myanmar. Even though they posses quite long coastal area and many hundreds of islands, the ancient Myanmar (Burmese) rather interested to settle on the land than on the island.

The lack of human interference is believed to have left some of the larger islands with the full range of animal life that is no longer found undisturbed on the Asian mainland, including elephants, tigers, deer, wild boar and many others. Apart from a few " Sea Gypsies (Morken), there's not even and indigenous population.

Few strange quirks of history, most of the Mergui Archipelago has been left to birds, beasts and plant life. Most of islands are covered with the vivid green of topical rain forest and boundary by plain white sand beaches. Crystal clean water and beautiful coral life make to visitor to say " That is tropical paradise".

There are many beautiful islands in the archipelago. Among of them Lampi, Clara, Gt.Swinton (Kyun Pi La), Pulau Beda (Nyaung Wee), Loungh borough (Jalan). The sisters (langan), Macleod (kyat Yin Khwa). Elphinstone and Ross Island prominent.

There is a group of banks at the south western part of archipelago, known as Burma bank is quite famous dive spot in scuba divers world. Black Rock, Western rocky, Twin islands and OK rock are also famous for scuba diving. Palau Beda. Lounghborough, Lampi. The sister and Elphinestone are main base islands for sea gypsies, who used to settle on those islands in the rainy season and travel around the islands in the dry season. Although the town Mergui (Myeik) is the main city of this archipelago. The tourists who would like to travel though out the archipelago used Kawthaung (Victoria Point) as a gate way of Mergui archipelago. Tavoy is another big and famous city which located on the far north of archipelago.
