Detail Itinerary

Day – 01: Yangon arrival and sightseeing (by car)
Arrive at Yangon International Airport to be welcomed upon arrival by your gracious tour guide. Transfer and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, take a tour of Yangon including a photo stop at Karaweik Hall (named after a sacred mythological bird) which is a royal barge floating in Kandawgyi ("Royal") Lake and then stop at the Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda (Reclining Buddha) a colossal reclining Buddha (which is only surpassed in size by the one in Bago). Later that afternoon, visit to the city center and see the gilded 2,500 year-old Sule Pagoda (a magnificent octagonal golden pagoda which is said to enshrine a hair of Buddha). Then, you will visit the beautiful colonial-style buildings surrounding Mahabandula Park, take a tour of the Naga (hand blown) Glass Factory and stroll through the quaint and narrow streets of Chinatown including the short visit to Tao Temple. Spend the night at your hotel in Yangon.

Day – 02: Yangon - Kyaing Tong ( by flight and car )

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to the Yangon airport for your flight to Kyaing Tong. You will be transferred to your hotel where you will check-in. You will then begin your sightseeing of Kyaing Tong, which is a small trading town in the Eastern Shan State and the capital city of the Golden Triangle Region, that is well known for its scenic beauty and colorful hill tribes and is still relatively untouched by tourism. You will first go to the Maha Myat Muni Pagoda, which houses an impressive Mandalay-style Buddha image. You will next proceed to view the local Shan lacquer-ware (which Myanmar is famous for). Then, you will visit the Standing Buddha Image, the Hot Spa, the center of the Akha Village and the R.C.M. Church. At the end of the day, you will view a dramatic sunset from One Tree Hill where there is a 245-year old Kanyin-byu (Diptero carpus Spp) tree. Before you are driven back to your hotel, you will visit the pottery village "Yan Gone" to observe the beautiful handcrafted earthen pots of the Shan tribe. Spend the night at your hotel in Kyaing Tong.

Day – 03: Akha and Luhu village ( by car )
After breakfast at your hotel, you will visit to Water Buffalo Market where buyers and sellers stand around, seemingly doing nothing, but, in reality, sales are transacted quietly. The market is situated of the left hand side of the road as you leave Kyainge Tong for Taunggyi on the southern side of the town. You will be driven to the "Ho Kyin" Village, which is a typical Akha (tribal) Village. From there, you will continue for another 30 minutes to the Na phi Phank Village, where the Lahu and Akha tribes live together. From there, you will walk to the Phata Akha Village and to the "Pang Ma Phai" Akha (tribal) Village to learn more about the daily lives and customs of the tribes people. You will then be driven to the Mong Zine (Khun Village) to see traditional Lahu knives made by Lahu blacksmiths. On the way back to your hotel, you will stop at the Joe Phyu “Wa Village". Spend the night in your hotel in Kyaing Tong.

Day – 04: Loimwe village ( by car )
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to the "Akha Village" which is 9 km. northeast of Kyaing Tung. You will proceed to "Loimwe" which is 33 km. from Kyaing Tung. Loimwe, when translated, literally means "misty mountain". It is 1,600 meters, above sea level with a temperate climate. From Loimwe, there is a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding area. Since Loimwe was once a British outpost, there still remain many colonial-style buildings and Catholic churches. The main attraction is the scenery on the ascent to Loimwe, which passes through forests and terraced rice fields. On the way to Loimwe, you will have several stops to visit the different villages and to take photos. You will go to the Wan Lun Shan Village, where you will observe the daily lives and customs of the people there, to the Ho Lup Akha Village, where you can see the traditional Akha tribes with their colorful dresses, to the Nang Cho Wa Village and to the Panwai Lahu Village, which are on the left and right sides of the road. Late in the afternoon, you return to Kyaing Tong. Spend the night at your hotel in Kyaing Tong.

Day – 05: Kyaing Tong - Yangon ( by flight and car )
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the Kyaing Tong airport for your flight back to Yangon. Upon your return to Yangon, you will visit the Lawka Chanthar Arbayar Laba Muni Buddha Image (Kyauktawgyi), which was carved from the one piece of white is marble rock and which is flawless and the White Elephant Camp where three white elephants are kept (in Myanmar, the white elephant is regarded with great veneration). Spend the night at your hotel in Yangon.

Day – 06: Shopping and Departure. ( by car )
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken to the Gems Mart and Handicrafts shops for morning shopping. You will also be taken to the Bogyoke Aung San Market (well known for gems & jewelry, arts & crafts, fabrics & fashions and local products) where you can buy you last-minute souvenirs. You will then be transferred to airport for your departure.
