Day 01. Arrive Yangon and sightseeing. O/N Yangon. (by car)
Day 02. Fly to Putao and proceed to Shangaung village. O/N Shangaung village. (by flight & car).
Day 03. Start trekking from Shangaung village to Warsamdam village . O/N Warsamdam. (by foot)
Day 04. Trek from Warsamdam to Mt. Phongun Razi. On the way visit to Zeyardam village O/N. (by foot)
Day 05. Trek from Zeyardam village- River junction camp-Thit Pin Gyi. O/N Thit Pin Gyi. (by foot)
Day 06. Trek from Thit Pin Gyi Camp - Khant Tauk Camp - Snow line Camp. O/N Camp. (by foot)
Day 07. Trek from Snow line Camp - Mountain Peak - Snow line Camp. O/N Snow line Camp. (by foot)
Day 08. Trek from Snow line camp - Khant Tauk - Thit Pin Gyi - River Junction Camp. O/N River J.Camp. (by foot)

Day 10. Start climbing the mountain range and go down to get to Shangaung village. O/N Shangaung. (by foot)

Day 12. Visit to Putao market and shop for local souvenirs. After lunch fly back to Yangon & O/N. (by car & flight)
Day 13. Yangon free day. O/N Yangon.

Detail Itinerary

Day – 01: Yangon arrival and sightseeing (by car)

Arrive at Yangon International Airport to be welcomed upon arrival by your gracious tour guide. Transfer and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, take a tour of Yangon including a photo stop at Karaweik Hall (named after a sacred mythological bird) which is a royal barge floating in Kandawgyi ("Royal") Lake and then stop at the Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda (Reclining Buddha) a colossal reclining Buddha (which is only surpassed in size by the one in Bago). Later that afternoon, visit to the city center and see the gilded 2,500 year-old Sule Pagoda (a magnificent octagonal golden pagoda which is said to enshrine a hair of Buddha). Then, you will visit the beautiful colonial-style buildings surrounding Mahabandula Park, take a tour of the Naga (hand blown) Glass Factory and stroll through the quaint and narrow streets of Chinatown including the short visit to Tao Temple. Spend the night at your hotel in Yangon.

Day – 02: Yangon - Putao - Shangaung village ( by flight and car )

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the Yangon airport for your flight to Putao (which takes about three hours). Upon arrival, you will have lunch in Putao and then will be driven by car to the Shangaung Village (the Shangaung Village lies at the foot of the Shangaung range and is the biggest village in the area). Spend the night in a village house.

 


Day – 03: Shangaung Village - Warsamdam village (by foot)

After breakfast at the village house, you will begin your trek. You will cross over a heavily forested mountain range, called the Shangaung Range, which is about 5,000 above sea level and will take you about seven hours to cross. During this trek, you will see some lovely scenery, as well as pheasants, butterflies, birds and primary forest. On the other side of the mountain range is the Warsamdam Village, which is a small village that has only 10 houses. It is located next to the beautiful mountain stream. Spend the night in a village house.

Day – 04: Warsamdam village - Zeyardam village (by foot)

After breakfast at the village house, you will begin your trek between the Warsamdam and Zeyardam villages which is a distance of about 17 km. and will take you about five hours. During this trek, you will walk along a riverbank and will cross a suspension bridge. On the way, you can observe the cultivation of mustard, wheat and rice by the local tribes. The Zeyardam Village (which is about of 3,000 ft. above sea level) is the last village on the way to Phongun Razi. This village has about 20 houses and is surrounded by very dense forests and snow-capped mountains with a small stream located next to it. Spend the night in a village house.

Day – 05: Zeyardam village - River junction camp - Thit Pin Gyi Camp (by foot)

After breakfast at the village house, you will begin your trek along Nat Lan Creek to reach the River Junction Camp, which will take you about three hours. Upon reaching River Junction Camp, you will cross a small bamboo bridge and climb up a hill. It will take you about three hours to reach Thit Pin Gyi Camp (which is about of 6,000 ft. above sea level). 75% of this area is covered by forest. There is also an abundance of bamboo, rattan, creeper and orchids. You will be revitalized by the sound of gibbons and birds. Spend the night (in a tent) at the Thit Pin Gyi Camp.

Day – 06: Thit Pin Gyi Camp - Khant Tauk Camp - Snow line Camp (by foot)

After breakfast, you will start your trek and go uphill and downhill for nine hours through sub-alpine forest. The Snow Line Camp is about 10,000 ft. above sea level. The temperature in this region can drop to below zero, so adequate (warm) clothing is necessary. From the Snow Line Camp, you will be able to see Blood Pheasants, Tragopans and Gray Peacock Pheasants. Spend the night (in a tent) at the Snow Line Camp.

Day – 07: Snow line Camp - Mountain Peak - Snow line Camp (by foot)

After breakfast, your trek will resume. It will take at least 3 to four hours to get to the mountain peak (which is 11,500 ft. above sea level). The duration of your climb will vary depending upon the weather conditions and the depth of the snow. If the weather is good, you will see the scenic beauty of the snow-capped mountain ranges from the mountain peak (you will also get some great photos). You will descend back to the Snow Line Camp. Spend the night (in a tent) at the Snow Line Camp.

Day – 08: Snow line camp - Khant Tauk - Thit Pin Gyi - River Junction Camp (by foot)

After breakfast, you will start your trek to the River Junction Camp as you take in the scenic beauty around you. You will take a lunch break at Thit Pin Gyi. Then, you will continue trekking until you reach River Junction Camp. Spend the night (in a tent) at the River Junction Camp.

Day – 09: River Junction - Warsamdam village (by foot)

After breakfast, you will resume your trek. You will go back to the Zeyardam Village and, from there, proceed to the Warsamdam Village. Spend the night in a village house.

Day – 10: Warsamdam village - Shangaung village (by foot)

After breakfast at the village house, you will start crossing over a heavily forested mountain range in order to get to the Shangaung Village (it will take you about seven hours to cross). You will have lunch along the way. Spend the night in a village house in the Shangaung Village.

Day – 11: Shangaung village – Putao (by foot & car)

After breakfast at the village house, you will be driven back to Putao where you will have lunch at local restaurant. You will check into your guesthouse and will have time to relax. You will have dinner at local restaurant. Spend the night at your guesthouse in Putao.

Day – 12: Putao – Yangon (by flight & car)

In the morning, you will leave the guesthouse and will be taken to the Putao morning market where you will have breakfast and shop for souvenirs. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Putao airport for your flight to Yangon. Spend the night at your hotel in Yangon.

Day – 13: Yangon free day

You will have a free day in Yangon to do what ever you want including: relaxing, sightseeing or shopping. Spend the night at your hotel in Yangon.

Day –14: Shopping and departure ( by car )

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken to the Gems Mart and Handicrafts shops for morning shopping. You will also be taken to the Bogyoke Aung San Market (well known for gems & jewelry, arts & crafts, fabrics & fashions and local products) where you can buy you last-minute souvenirs. You will then be transferred to airport for your departure.
