Yangon –Putao - Nogmung - Putao – Yangon ( 12 days / 11 nights )

Brief Itinerary

Day 01. Arrive Yangon & S/S. O/N Yangon. (by car)
Day 02. Fly to Putao and overnight at Putao guest house. (by flight & car)
Day 03. Visit to Putao market and bank of Malikha River by boat. Proceed to Nankan village and O/N. (by car & boat)
Day 04. Start trekking from Nankan to Nanhti village. O/N Nanhti village. (by foot)
Day 05. Trek from Nanhti to Maza village. O/N Maza village. (by foot)
Day 06. Trek along the creek about 8 miles to get to Nogmung. O/N at Nogmung. (by foot)
Day 07. Visit morning market and shop for local souvenirs. And start return trip to Maza and O/N. (by foot & car)
Day 08. Go up the mountain range about 4 hours and go down to the Nanhti village and O/N. (by foot)
Day 09. Trek from Nanhti to Numsabum village. O/N Numsabum village. (by foot)
Day 10. Walk to Malikha River, visit Kaungmulon Pagoda on the way. Drive to Putao and O/N. (by boat & car)
Day 11. Visit to Putao market and shop for local souvenirs. After lunch fly back to Yangon & O/N. (by car & flight)
Day 12. Shopping & Departure. (by car)

Detail Itinerary

Day – 01: Yangon arrival and sightseeing (by car)


Arrive at Yangon International Airport to be welcomed upon arrival by your gracious tour guide. Transfer and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, take a tour of Yangon including a photo stop at Karaweik Hall (named after a sacred mythological bird) which is a royal barge floating in Kandawgyi ("Royal") Lake and then stop at the Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda (Reclining Buddha) a colossal reclining Buddha (which is only surpassed in size by the one in Bago). Later that afternoon, visit to the city center and see the gilded 2,500 year-old Sule Pagoda (a magnificent octagonal golden pagoda which is said to enshrine a hair of Buddha). Then, you will visit the beautiful colonial-style buildings surrounding Mahabandula Park, take a tour of the Naga (hand blown) Glass Factory and stroll through the quaint and narrow streets of Chinatown including the short visit to Tao Temple. Spend the night at your hotel in Yangon.

Day – 02: Yangon - Putao ( by flight and car )
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the Yangon airport for your flight to Putao. The flight takes which takes about three hours with a quick stop in Myitkyina. You will be driven from the Putao airport to a guesthouse where you will have time to relax. In Putao, you will have your first view of the stunning the scenic beauty of Kachin Mountains, which are part of Himalayan mountain range. Spend the night at your guesthouse in Putao.

Day – 03: Putao - Nankan village (by car & boat)


In the morning, you will leave the guesthouse and will be taken to the Putao morning market where you will have breakfast at the market. After breakfast, you will be driven to the bank of Malikha River, which takes about one hour to cross by boat. The Nankan Village lies on the east bank of Malikha River and is located at the foot of the Nanhti mountain range. While there, you can observe the rituals and culture of the Rawan tribes living in the village. You may also enjoy the fruits available there such as oranges, grapefruits, king fruit and blood fruit. Spend the night at a village house in the Nankan Village.


Day – 04: Nankan village - Nanhti village (by foot)
After breakfast at the village house, you will start your trek to the Nanhti camp, which is about 12 miles away. You will go up and down several hills with some nice views along the way. The highest mountain range in the area is 3,500 ft. You will have a tasty picnic while on the trek. You will cross the Nanhti Creek by a suspension bridge. The Nanhti Village is situated in a mountain range about 2,700 ft. above sea level. This small camp has only 4 houses. You will stay in a traditional Nanhti house that is made of wood and bamboo and has a straw roof. Spend the night at the Nanhti Village.

Day – 05: Nanhti village - Maza village (by foot)
After breakfast at the village house, you will start your trek to the Maza Village, which is about 8 miles away. During the trek, you will have to cross a mountain range, which is about 6,200 ft. high. The Maza camp is on the other side of the range. Spend the night at the Maza Village.

Day – 06: Maza village – Nogmung (by foot)
After breakfast at the Maza Village, you will start your trek to along the creek to Nogmung, which is about 8 miles away. Spend the night at the Nogmung.

Day – 07: Nogmung – Maza (by car & foot)
After breakfast at the Nogmung, you will visit the morning market and shop for local souvenirs. After that, you will start your return back to the Maza Village. Spend the night at the Maza Village.

Day – 08: Maza – Nanhti (by foot)
After breakfast at the Maza Village, you will trek up the mountain range for about four hours and then trek down to the Nanhti Village. Spend the night at the Nanhti Village.

Day – 09: Nanhti - Numsabum village (by foot)
After breakfast at the Nanhti Village, you will continue your trek back. You will go back, but by a different way from the way that you came. You will trek to the creek and cross the creek by the suspension bridge, and, then, you will climb the mountain range which is about 3,500 ft. high and climb down to the Numsabum Village. Spend the night at the Numsabum Village.

Day – 10: Numsabum - Kaungmulon – Putao (by foot & car)


After breakfast at the Numsabum Village, you will continue your trek to the Malikha River which will take about 45 minutes. You will visit the Kaungmulon Pagoda (which was built in 16th century and is the only ancient Pagoda in that area) on the way. Afterwards, you will cross the Malikha River by boat and, then, you will be driven to Putao. You will have a satisfying lunch in Putao and, then, you will visit the beautiful Mularshide Cable Bridge by car. Spend the night at your guesthouse in Putao.



Day – 11: Putao – Yangon (by flight & car)
In the morning, you will leave the guesthouse and will be taken to the Putao morning market where you will have breakfast and shop for souvenirs. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Putao airport for your flight to Yangon.

Day – 12: Shopping and Departure ( by car )
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken to the Gems Mart and Handicrafts shops for morning shopping. You will also be taken to the Bogyoke Aung San Market (well known for gems & jewelry, arts & crafts, fabrics & fashions and local products) where you can buy you last-minute souvenirs. You will then be transferred to airport for your departure.
